Are we waking up now?
We drift through life as comfortable slaves, asleep at the wheel. Lulled by Netflix binges, scrolling feeds, oversized meals, and the illusion of choice, we convince ourselves we’re free. The chains aren’t rusty iron anymore—they’re soft, convenient, and wrapped in the language of “civilization.”
Why do we continue to pay taxes?
Because they can garnish our wages, seize our accounts, or throw us in a cage if we resist. Refuse long enough and the polite letters turn into liens, audits, and men with badges at your door.
This isn’t voluntary contribution to a noble society; it’s extracted under threat of force.
We trade our labor, our time, and our very lives for the “privilege” of existing in the system they built. Most of us live paycheck to paycheck, silently praying we don’t get hit with an emergency — a broken-down car, a medical bill, or any unexpected expense — because one hit like that is enough to bury us deeper in debt.
We are nothing more than slaves living in a lie. A modern slavery where the plantation is the entire economy. They promise us roads, schools, and security — yet the roads crumble, the schools indoctrinate, and the security apparatus seems mostly designed to keep us in line. Meanwhile, the ruling class grows richer, the bureaucracy swells, and we keep grinding away, hoping the next raise or gadget will finally set us free.
We celebrate “Tax Day” like it’s a holiday instead of a reminder of ownership. We cheer for politicians who promise to “fix” the very system they profit from. We’re too comfortable to rock the boat — trapped in air-conditioned prisons filled with smartphones and streaming subscriptions. Asleep at the wheel, we cruise toward higher taxes, more surveillance, and more control, all while sharing memes about freedom.
The Real Awakening
The real awakening isn’t rage — it’s clarity. It’s recognizing that true liberty means rejecting the lie that your earnings, your property, and your body belong first to the State. Until enough of us open our eyes, this comfortable slavery will continue. The wheel keeps turning, and we remain strapped in.
Wake up. The chains feel light only because we’ve grown numb to their weight.
